levi wallacemichael gonzalezLevi Wallace and Michael Gonzalez
Arizona's best for 2009

When one looks at the body of work that Levi Wallace and Michael Gonzalez have compiled at such a young age, it is incredible.  These were the players who put their best game on the floor when it mattered most, not when there was really nothing to lose or regret. No, these fantastic inline athletes put on a display of athletic prowess at the state finals which surpassed the prerequired expectations of even the most seasoned of spectators.  In a sense, their performance made geographic sense by the fact that Levi comes from the furthest north (Prescott) and Michael the furthest south (Tucson) of the great state of Arizona.  It seemed then that their selection,  by Rubber Magazine, made them out as two phenomenal bookends of an entire collection of outstanding high school hockey talent in Arizona for 2009. Michael Gonzalez will be graduating and moving on to UofA in Tucson.  Levi will have an opportunity to return for his senior year.  Either way, we wish these two gracious young men the best of luck and many thanks to them for great performances, sportsmanship and grace under pressure that they displayed for a great 2009 high school season.
